My Hair Journey

I have always had long hair then cut it short. When I made the decision three years ago to keep my hair shoulder length, it was the best choice I made. It made me look grown up, mature and myself. I felt I would hide behind my long hair and I may miss being able to do complicated hairstyles but there is more things you can do with shorter hair than you may think!

I always feel that (like any length hair) you should have well kept short hair, especially when you can't tie it up! I find that changing my shampoos often and at my age, not using conditioner-or a little of it as it can provoke grease- keeps my hair shiny and healthy.

Last year I made the bold (for me) decision to ombre my hair.

If you didn't know already, ombre is another term for 'dip dye', where you dye the ends of your hair a colour (usually blonde) and it fades up to your normal root colour.

I LOVED it as it gave my hair texture and volume but I had to look after it so used a hair mask once a week and Herbal Essences Ignite my Colour Shampoo which kept the colour strength and intensity. (both products mentioned in previous posts).

I did it again this year but not as strong and found it appropiate for school too.

Last week I chose to have layers.

"Lots of layers please", I beamed to my hairdresser, who -after consulting my hair-agreed that it would suit me. I had layers before but not as many as now.

She kept the length and curled my hair for me proving I can have my hair straight or curled. I took my inspiration from Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (Cheryl Cole) who has beautiful hair and is always well conditioned.

The beauty herself!
I have always been open for hair ideas and cuts and this post is to encourage all of you to take a gamble with your hair and experiment.

But ALWAYS look after your hair and keep it in perfect condition.

Hope you all enjoyed!

Lots of Love and Hugs
