Pencil or Liquid?

A question I regularly ask myself is; pencil or liquid?

Eyeliner is a very finishing, personalised touch to eyes and the colour, shape and strength of the liner shows a lot through a person.

Liquid Liner

Pros; Dramatic, long-lasting, easy to flick/create wings and slides on well. Some may be waterproof.

Cons; May be messy, if not waterproof then create smudge, have to get use to application technique and can be awkward in all aspects if not comfortable/familiar with usage.May be slightly more expensive than pencil.

Eye Pencil

Pros; Effective, easy to apply, more natural looking, easy to flick, plenty of different shades and depending on the brand, normally cheaper than liquid liner.

Cons; Not as long lasting, many not waterproof, not very dramatic and eyeliner is not as easy to apply as get caught in crease (not smooth application).

Overall, both are just as good, but the pencil being more money friendly. Liquid liner is more suitable for a night out and eye pencil for during the day.

Which do you use more often, why and what is your favourite eye liner? :)

Small Holiday Haul - Superdrug & Paperchase

So I have just come back from a lovely holiday and I went shopping...

Superdrug

Beauty
Maybelline had an offer on (3 for 2) so I had to pick up the following 3 items.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo (x2) and Colour Sensational Vivid  Lipstick.

I am a bit late on the bandwagon with these, but I have been longing to try them. They are Maybellines 24 Hour Colour Tattoo in the shade Pink Gold 65. I also purchased the shade On and On Bronze 35. They are the most beautiful shades and are complimentary colours, so will look great on the lids. Both of them can be dressy or neutrals so perfect for everyday!
Maybelline claims that they last 24 hour but I will do a review on these so you can find out there!
They are a cream- gel consistency and very pigmented. They have a hint of shimmer to them and I am so excited to use them. They were £4.99 each (but the offer meant one was free).

My last purchase from Maybellines counter was the Colour Sensational Vivid Lipstick in the shade Shocking Coral. This is the prettiest colour, it can be dressy or very simple. It is quite bright but I think it will be a colour that suits me. Maybelline says that they are moisturising and hydrating for the lips, so I will be reporting whether that is true or not! It was quite pigmented when I swatched it so I am looking forward to this product! It was £7.19.

Left to Right; Maybelline Colour Sensational Vivid in Shocking Coral, Pink Gold Colour Tattoo, On and On Bronze Colour Tattoo.

School Essentials

Superdrug had a deal (3 for £3) on all travel size products so I picked up some things......

I always find myself not being organised at school, so I thought to myself..... Lets change that!!

These are all just handy things to store in a small cosmetics bag after gym/swim/sport etc to freshen up or if I get caught short! (tictacs were not part of deal they were from WHSmiths but I got toothpaste as the sixth item of the deal)!
I am really happy I purchased these, so I recommend checking Superdrug out now!!!

Paperchase School Stationary
I am sucker for stationary especially when it has Paperchase scrawled all over it, and what made it worse was the 3 for 2 mix and match deal! So this is my new school stationary!

I felt all together this was reasonably cheap because of the 3 for 2!

So I hope you enjoyed this 'mini' haul and I hope you might have seen anything that you went 'oohh I have got to get that!' If so, comment below!

Question; Boots or Superdrug? :)

Is it worth the hype: Urban Decay Naked Palettes Edition

So I am considering purchasing (or asking our jolly friend with the beard and red coat) for the Naked or Naked 2 Palettes by Urban Decay.

Now, I LOVE eyeshadow but I do not know which is better and... is it worth the hype?

Of course, I can't afford to buy both with my own money, as being £36 each is a lot for an eyeshadow palette.

I bet you are all saying, 'What!? She DOESN'T have the two Naked palettes!' But rest assured, I plan to get my hands on one of them soon...

I know people rave about this, but I would love a more personal, constructive comment from YOU!

I need help deciding, so please comment below saying which you prefer/want and why it is good/not good. With the deal of getting a free lipgloss/eye primer potion, I need to decide soon!

Do you think it's worth the hype?

Miss Selfridges- Grey Cardigan/ Dorothy Perkins - Cat EyeTop

I recently purchased a grey shimmery cardigan (with a shimmer of lilac if placed in the direct light) from Miss Selfridges and I feel it complimented my skin tone, eye colour and would be a good investment because it would go with most of the items in my wardrobe.

It was slightly on the pricey side (but I couldn't resist). Because it is a pale colour, it would go with most colours which would mean I would get great wear out of it.

One of the things I love about it is that it's super soft!! It is so cosy and feels like I am wrapped in a blanket. It is quite a nice length on the sleeves and has two pockets, it's also a longish cardigan. I feel this is a very cool but subtle fashion statement. It says a lot but is very simple and effective.

This cat eye top is casual, cute and very baggy, so perfect for a chilled weekend spent at the cinema. It has cap sleeves and the material is very light and elasticated. It can be worn as an off the shoulder top with a cami underneath. A black cami may be able to be seen through the top so I recommend wearing a pastel coloured cami underneath. This also goes with my cardigan, which was kind of a bonus! I know Miss Selfridges still sell their cardigan but I am not sure about this top! Try and get your hands on these!

July Monthly Favourites

I have been spending a lot of money in July on products, and just mainly using some stuff a lot more.

One of the products I have recently been loving is Lush Bubblegum Lip scrub. It scrubs my lips clean of dead/flaky skin and makes them smooth 'n' soft. The price is a bit much for lip scrub but it does the job well; £5.25. Also, it tastes amazing!! I really like the lip scrubs because they are edible (yay! haha).

Another product I have been loving is Clinique Superbalm Moisturising Gloss. They add colour to your lips as well as moisturising them. It gives your lips gloss and shine and lasts for a long time! I love these so much and the colours are lovely. I would describe the one on the left as blackcurrant colour and the one on the right as baby pink. I have the sample sizes (the pink one hooks on a key chain) and the full size is £16. I am afraid to say, although I love them, I would never fork out £16 for 15ml lip gloss. Never. Ever. £16 could be spent on 3 items of Rimmel makeup! But... I may succumb to the love I have for these...:

Another product that you all know I love is; DermaVio Cocoa Body Butter. I use this after a shower and it is a great moisturiser for my skin! It is very soft and nourishing, all for £1! Once I have used this up I will definitely repurchase it. It is a massive tub (like Body Shop Size) and is a really cheap dupe for it!

Candle of the Month
This July, I have been loving Bomb Cosmetics Paradise Lost Return to Eden candle. It is fruity (abit flowery too), sweet and very girly and I love this candle for when I am relaxing in a pamper evening style bath. I am not sure where to find this candle, but it costs £7.99 and it was a birthday pressie from a couple years back (I wasn't obsessed with candles back then!)

Eyeshadow Bargain Favourite
The colours in this palette are stunning and very pigmented. They are very easy to blend and leave a great finish! I will use this all year round and I purchased it from Bodycare (not sure if there is a chain of stores) and if you can get hold of this for £4 then I definitely recommend!

Perfume of the Month
This is a really light and stunning perfume. Its top notes are red apple, wild berries and water lily; its middle notes are jasmine, freesia and peony; base notes being woodsy scent, amber and a musky smell. (Had to look that up, my nose is NOT that good!)
This is a daytime perfume and perfect for Spring and Summer.
Unfortunately, Harajuku Lovers are only available online to purchase (Ebay etc). This one is called G of the Sea.

Shoes of the Month
These shoes were a bargain and so casual. I have been wearing these every single day because they are comfortable and are easy on my feet. I got these from Primark and they were just over £10 (I think!?!). I am not sure whether these are available still but if you are desperate there is Ebay???! LOVE them!

Favourite Outfit
Okay, so technically this isn't an outfit but this is so cute! These PJ's are so comfy and fit well. It has been getting hotter recently, so I was baking in my thick winter PJ's (pyjamas just in case you call it something else!) These were from Primark and I just love them! They are really light and airy so they are perfect for this weather!

Nail Shade Fave!
I have mentioned this nail varnish before, but it is my monthly favourite. The colour is rich but I also find that the brush is really good as it makes it easier to apply the paint. I find the quality really good and if you want to read more about this shade and Scorched Orange by Collection, read it here.

So, I hope you enjoyed this post and it has helped you see a product or item that you liked the look of! I love this blog so please follow me on Pinterest and Instagram! Thanks for reading!
