Cleaning makeup brushes is a very important part to beauty. The amount of bacteria and germs your brush hold and, you put on your face is disgusting. Product gets clogged up in the hairs of your brush, causing germs to multiply and spread.
Sounds gross, right? Well, with a good cleaner and running water, you will be fine and your brushes 'deep cleaned'.
I deep clean my brushes once a week (sounds a lot, but if you are using your brushes nearly every day then you should) and I also spot clean (rinse lightly and dry) when I feel my brushes need it or when I have used a very bright/prominent colour.
I know there are plenty of expensive brush cleaners claiming to do the job better than anything else; but they cannot beat Johnsons Baby Shampoo. It is a lot softer for the brushes than normal shampoo (NEVER use anything like your daily shampoo, as your brush hair is very delicate.)
Let's get started!
Select a big brush (I am using a face brush) and rinse under warm water. Once wet, swirl your brush in the cleanser/baby shampoo to create a lather. Once you think the brush is lathered enough, soak your brush under the water and squeeze the brush hairs, making sure that all shampoo has been rinsed out.
With your smaller brushes (eyeshadow brushes, lip brushes etc.) swirl three at the same time. Here I am using; Eyeshadow Brush, Eyebrow Angled Brush and Eyeliner Brush.
So I hope this helped you all with cleaning your makeup brushes, as it is very important that you do this!!
:) x
